> ABOUT FRIENDS EVERYWHERE

Friends Everywhere is a community-powered rapid response tool for tracking and sharing reports of law enforcement activity. It is decentralized, federated, privacy-focused, and open source.

The goal is simple: spread intel, not panic. Reports are submitted by community members, verified by trusted investigators, and broadcast to subscribers via push notifications.

// HOW IT WORKS

  1. Report — Anyone can submit a report of activity they observe, including location, type of activity, vehicle and agent descriptions.
  2. Verify — Trusted investigators review submissions and mark them as verified, rejected, or ended.
  3. Alert — Verified reports trigger push notifications to subscribers in the affected area.

// PRINCIPLES

  • Privacy first — Minimal data collection. Reporter contact info is deleted after verification or 7 days.
  • Decentralized — Anyone can host an instance. No central point of failure.
  • Federated — Instances can share verified reports with each other.
  • Open source — Fully auditable. Licensed under AGPL-3.0.
